about OUR PRACTICE

What insurance do you take?

Dr. Ryan does not accept any insurance plans. This means that you would directly pay for your child’s visit the same day.

If your child is covered by a health insurance plan, Dr. Ryan will be considered an out-of-network provider if you self-filed a claim for your visit.

How much does it cost to pay for my child’s visit?

  • Regular sick visit: $85 (new patient) $70 (established patient)

  • Extended sick visit: $120 (new patient) $100 (established patient)

  • Well visit: $130.00 (new patient) $100 (established patient)

We have private insurance but would like to stay with Dr. Ryan. Can we self-file?

Yes, we would be happy to provide you with a CMS-1500 form to submit to your insurance company for each visit.

We are unable to stay with the practice. How can I obtain my child’s medical records?

Please send us a message through our secure text line and we will email or text you an electronic medical release form to fill out and sign. Once we receive the release, we can send your child’s medical record to the recipient you designate using our HIPAA-compliant text line, email or fax. Please allow 1-2 weeks lead time.

Can my child get vaccinated at your office?

We do not administer vaccines at the office. However, your local pharmacy or store-sponsored health clinic as well as the health department can.

Will you see my child if we prefer not to follow the regular vaccine schedule?

Yes. We fully respect every parent's decision on vaccines. Some of our patients do none, while others follow the AAP-recommended vaccine schedule.

How is appointment scheduling handled?

It is our goal to give enough time to every patient and have dedicated hours for newborn and well visits. Same-day sick visits may be possible; it is best to call us first thing in the morning.

We strongly discourage walk-ins. If your child has an urgent need that can’t wait a few hours, please take him to the Urgent Care or ER.

Is Dr. Ryan available after-hours for urgent medical needs?

Yes. In-person and telehealth appointments are available after-hours by calling 770.607.0795.

about WHEN TO SEEK CARE

When should I go to the ER?

You should go to the ER for medical emergencies such as bad falls, trauma, labored breathing, altered consciousness, poisoning, etc. For minor illnesses, it is better to avoid the ER.  If your child is not particularly ill, but you are thinking about going to the ER, please call or text us first.

When should I bring my newborn?

In general, if there are no complications during birth and delivery, we should see the baby within two days of leaving the hospital. We advise scheduling your baby’s first visit by the 4th day of life specially if the baby has jaundice. It is always a good idea to book this appointment before leaving the hospital.

I am expecting. Do you offer a Meet and Greet?

Yes, we can schedule a Meet and Greet via video chat or in-person. There is no charge for this.
